Wild Strawberries at the IFI - Minari
A quiet, beautiful, and moving family drama from Korean-American filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung. Drawing on his own experience he tells this story through the eyes of 7-year-old David who moves with his family from the west coast to rural Arkansas. His father is following a dream of living off crops; his mother is furious at the uprooting to ‘hillbilly’ land. The arrival of his Korean grandmother adds moments of tension and humour, while local eccentric Paul, stirs the mix further. Multi-award winning and nominated, Minari recounts a migrant experience with tenderness, authenticity, and hope.
This film screens on Wednesday October 27th and Friday October 29th at 11am. Tickets are available here.
