Helium Arts: ‘Our World in a Window’ Gallery Exhibition
This item has expired, and will soon be unavailable for viewing
We’re delighted to have our new ‘Our World in a Window’ gallery exhibition stopping off in Cork, Galway and Kilkenny this week! The installation features animations and mechanised artwork produced by 49 children from 18 counties across Ireland as part of the Helium Arts ‘Distance Creates’ remote programme.
After the long and difficult year we’ve all had, we wanted to do something special for participating families to showcase and celebrate the children’s creativity in a public but safe way. A window gallery exhibition in different venues across Ireland gives families the opportunity to travel to their nearest location to enjoy the animations and provides a unique viewing experience for the general public. Check out the dates below for locations and head over to our website for more info. Please check opening times for each venue.
- Galway, 23 July – 4 August: Galway City Library
- Cork, 22-30 July: Civic Offices at Cork City Council
- Kilkenny, 24 July – 3 August: MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre
Our World in a Window is a Helium Arts exhibition featuring animations produced by children across Ireland on the ‘Distance Creates’ remote programme. The exhibition has been created by Helium artist Chelsea Canavan in partnership with Gerry Byrnes.
Distance Creates is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland, Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Culture & Arts Department. The programme is also supported by Rethink Ireland through the Innovate Together Fund, a collaboration between Rethink Ireland and the Department of Rural and Community Development (via the Dormant Accounts Fund).
