The workshop will discuss and engage with issues surrounding Gender Equality and Gender Based Violence. Fittingly the 25th November is the UN Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women. We will look at both global challenges and the UN’s campaign “Orange the World” supporting activism, and local challenges here in Ireland. Ciara Hyland will talk about her recent ground breaking documentary Cogadh ar Mhna/ War on Women, which explores the issue of sexual abuse and violence during the Irish Revolution. Using witness testimony and the power of storytelling, Ciara’s approach centres the victims, and tells their story in their words with dignity.

There will be a short Q&A for the audience.
