Burma Action Ireland: Burma’s Peacock Film Festival in Dublin
Free event: Burma’s Peacock Film Festival in Dublin – Burma Action Ireland
Burma Action Ireland in collaboration with independent media group Democratic Voice of Burma are now hosting Burma’s Peacock Film Festival in Dublin, after the festival has traveled around many countries across the world. The film festival was initiated by DVB in order to provide citizen journalists and professional filmmakers from Burma a platform to promote messages about their country to a worldwide audience, through the medium of documentary short films. The Dublin version of this festival consists of a selection of five short films portraying different stories and angles of the ongoing military coup attempt and civil war in Burma, covering topics ranging from defections among the military, to trauma among the civilian population, to armed resistance. Entrance to the event is free; purchases of beverages and light snacks are possible at the café counter.
