Overview:

A leader in counselling and psychotherapy education since 2003, IICP College offers programmes of study from Level 6 Certificates to Level 9 Masters programmes. The college has grown significantly since its inception and its core programmes include:

  • Level 6 Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Studies
  • Level 8 Higher Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Studies
  • Level 8 BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • Level 9 Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education
  • Level 9 MSc in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • Level 9 MA in Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy

Job Purpose:

The Senior Manager in Quality Assurance and Enhancement’s role is to direct the management and implementation of quality assurance and enhancement activities in the college, as a key member of the Department of the Registrar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and enhancement of the Quality Assurance Policy manual, ensuring that all revisions match QQI QA requirements
  • Day to day management of Quality operations
  • Acting as the point of contact for Programmes undertaking Internal and external Quality Reviews
  • Submitting Quality Reports to relevant College Bodies
  • Monitoring implementation of quality improvement initiatives arising from Internal and External Quality Reviews, and generating annual reports for the Academic Council
  • Overseeing and participate in on-going and systematic data capture and analysis, and ensuring appropriate dissemination of results
  • Identifying legislation and regulations impacting on the College
  • Leading the team in QQI Quality Review process
  • Research and benchmark QA Policies, Procedures and Processes to best practice standards
  • Research, discern and propose/implement recommendations on QA Policies, Procedures and Processes, based on regulatory requirements, best practice guidance, as well as core values, ethos and practical considerations specific to IICP College
  • Ensuring programme activity is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensuring programme activity is compliant with data protection legislation
  • Creation and circulation to the relevant executive team of proposed and recommended QA Policies. Procedures and Processes that match Professional Body, QQI and European Policy requirements
  • Active involvement in the validation process regarding new programmes at undergraduate and post-graduate level
  • Active involvement in professional accreditation and approval processes including CORU and IACP processes
  • Preparation of documents for revalidation with QQI and IACP (or any other professional bodies)
  • Development, review and enhancement of student administration and support services for the programme with all student lifecycle stages (Admissions, Examinations, Student Administration, Student Support)
  • Assisting the senior academic team in management of student matters via relevant QA Policies
  • Assistance in the day-to-day implementation of academic processes
  • Coordination of the production of polices for academic and corporate governing of the college
  • Provision of support to the college for its developmental aims and objectives
  • Input into College risk registers
  • Working with the Executive Management team to promote and develop the strategic aims of the organisation
  • Attending executive management meetings in due course
  • Representing IICP college at external meetings with key stakeholders (i.e. QQI, IACP, HECA etc.).

Requirements/Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 5 years’ experience in a comparable area
  • Minimum of Master’s level qualification
  • Proven experience of managing concurrent complex projects and processes
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Ability to research and source relevant information.
  • Knowledge and experience of QQI Validation processes.
  • Ability to develop, enhance, and implement quality assurance policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements, best practices, and the specific needs of the institution and higher education in general
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations affecting higher education institutions, including data protection laws and professional accreditation processes
  • Familiarity with QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) requirements and standards is essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders, such as executive management and academic teams, as well as external bodies like QQI, IACP, and professional accrediting regulators
  • Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data related to quality assurance metrics. Capability to generate comprehensive reports for college bodies and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of CORU approval processes would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of discipline or cognate field would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of therapeutic training programmes and/or training in Counselling/Psychotherapy would be an advantage.

Salary & Benefits:

  • The College offers salary commensurate with the role and depending on experience, as well as pension, health insurance and other benefits.

Working Hours:

  • The role is a standard working week, 40 hours.
  • Employees rotate between Monday to Friday (one week) and Tuesday to Saturday (second week) during the academic calendar, which equates to every second Saturday during periods when students are in class.
