An Cosán is currently seeking an experienced Employment & Skills Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a key part in building, managing, and supporting our relationship with new and existing employers both locally and nationwide.

An Cosán is Ireland’s largest community education organisation. We seek to bring about social equality and an end to poverty through community-based adult education, the provision of early years education and supports, wrap around counselling services, and empowering social enterprise development.

Reporting to the Community Education Lead, the role holder will engage and collaborate with employers to promote and facilitate the inclusion of An Cosán’s learners into the workforce. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advocating for diversity, fostering positive relationships with employers, and providing support to An Cosán’s learners in their journey toward sustainable employment.

Job Title: Employment & Skills Coordinator

Reports to: Community Education Lead

Contract: Fulltime (39 hrs. per week) 1 year contract

Location: Jobstown, Tallaght

Salary: €34,562 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with employers nationwide to identify work experience and job opportunities that benefit both employers and An Cosán’s learners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create work placement and sustainable employment opportunities for An Cosán’s learners.
  • Work closely with learners in preparing CV’s and in preparation for interviewing. 
  • Maintain accurate records of employer/learners engagements, placements, and success stories.
  • Compile regular reports to assess the impact of the program and identify areas for improvement.

Essential skills and Core Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pitch and present with confidence.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work with tact, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent administrative skills, including Microsoft Office - in particular Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
  • Strong ethics and reliability.
  • High level of personal responsibility and integrity.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and co-operatively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to deliver to a high standard.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working for non-profit organisations.
  • Previous experience working in marketing.
  • Knowledge of a non-governmental/community or voluntary sector.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR.
  • Full drivers’ licence.

**Presence in the Office / Working from Home

An Cosán will accommodate a hybrid model of working from home and attending the office. This accommodation remains subject to the Employment and Skills Coordinator agreeing in advance a hybrid approach/schedule with the Community Education Manager and is also subject to:

  1. Completing all assigned tasks to the satisfaction of the Community Education Lead.
  2. Maintaining internet connectivity to ensure the satisfactory completion of all duties.
  3. Good time management and demonstrating same.
  4. Ensuring good communications with learners and with An Cosán’s team.
