LEADER Project Development Officer
The LEADER Project Development Officer will be part of a team responsible for implementing the 2023-2027 LEADER Programme in Co. Kildare. A core objective of the role is the implementation of the vision and objectives outlined in the Local Development Strategy 2023 – 2027 and the development of stronger, more prosperous, more resilient and better-connected rural communities in County Kildare. The Officer’s work will be guided by the five Focus Areas outlined in the Strategy, namely Developing Social Capital, Social Cohesion, Social Infrastructure, Social Innovation and Climate Resilience. Key target area are businesses, social enterprises, and communities along with individuals involved in innovative start-up or expanding initiatives or enterprises to include ecotourism, food, environmental and the circular economy.
Core competencies and skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
- Project Management Skills – ability to manage projects and deliver programme targets within budget and specified time frames.
Minimum requirements for candidates:
- Holds a recognised Diploma/Degree in Rural Development or other relevant third level qualification.
- Has at least 3 years’ experience working on the LEADER Programme or in a similar role
- Has experience of working in the area of Rural Development, Social Enterprise, Enterprise support or Community Development
The position is being offered on a full-time basis 35 hours per week and will be subject to continued government funding. Salary is commensurate with experience. Download a full job description on www.countykildarelp.ie.
