Centre Director

Reporting to the CEO, the Centre Director has responsibility for the day to day activities relating to the successful running of the Rediscovery Centre in line with the Rediscovery Centre’s Strategic Plan 2022-2026. A key objective of the role is to ensure all visitors and customers have an exceptional experience at the centre. You will provide organisational leadership and direction to trainees and staff members, giving guidance and supporting them to excel in their respective roles in line with strategic goals and corporate objectives. The role is a senior position and the successful candidate will be expected to input to organisational strategy, growth and change management.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Overseeing centre related activities, services & events
  • Ensuring successful coordination of in-house and external events and activities
  • Strategic planning & stakeholder engagement
  • Facilities maintenance & asset management
  • Marketing, promotion and sales
  • Financial planning & management
  • Managing, supporting and developing staff including supporting local labour activation placements (CE, TUS & Internships)
  • Developing business and marketing plans to build on existing income streams & provide future direction & growth
  • Overseeing customer relations, visitor engagement and retail experience
  • Health and safety coordination (fire, first aid, manual handling, incident & accidents)
  • Increasing footfall and community engagement
  • CSP management

As a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, adhering & promoting company policies and values
  • Liaising with the other Directors and Programme Managers and in the delivery of services and products for sale through the centre.
  • HR and Governance
  • Supporting the implementation of the company’s Learning & Development Programme
  • Advocating for, and positively representing, the organisation
  • Preparing technical, financial and impact reports
  • Attending promotional events
  • Maintaining a duty of care towards all staff, trainees and visitors
  • Safeguarding the company values, strategic objectives and ethos
  • Other duties deemed necessary for the effective operation of the company

Based on the information contained in the CV and cover letter, the interview committee will select candidates for interview. Shortlisting and interview decisions will be based on the committee’s assessment of candidates’ submitted application only.
