Galway Drug & Alcohol Family Support Worker.
ARD Family Resource Centre, Doughiska, Galway wishes to recruit a Drug & Alcohol Family Support Project Worker for 28 hours per week. The Family Support Project Worker’s role will be to provide a non-judgemental, confidential support service to people who have been adversely affected by a family member or friend’s drug or alcohol use. This service is to be available in areas of need throughout Galway city and county.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3rd level qualification in a related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with individuals, families and communities.
- An ability to engage with and support family members in an empathetic and sensitive manner.
- An understanding of the complexity of addiction and the effects of this on individuals, families and communities.
- Open and innovative approach to work
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to collaborative working as part of larger teams/networks
- Excellent communication skills, IT proficient
- Driver's license & access to car
Garda vetting is required for this post.
