Position: Network Coordinator

Cork Anti-Poverty Resource Network is a community-based organisation that aims to encourage and empower individuals, groups and communities to become active agents in shaping their own lives and communities. Currently, CAPRN is responsible for five Cork community-based projects:

  • Adult Education
  • Domestic Violence Project.
  • A Mentoring Programme for Women Parenting Alone.
  • Childcare facility.
  • Mature Women’s Action Group: Collective of Mature women working towards change.

We are now seeking a Network Coordinator to join our team. The role will be responsible for the coordination of all activities related to our work and ethos. This is a part time role which will report to the CAPRN Board of management.

Salary or pay scale: €30,000 or as negotiated for a 25 hour week

Location: Education and Resource Centre, No.5 Churchfield Avenue, Churchfield.

Summary of the role: 

The successful candidate will liaise with the five projects which come under the umbrella of CAPRN and work in tandem with the team leaders/co-ordinators of each project to ensure that the needs of the different projects are explored and met. The successful candidate will also work in collaboration with administration groups, the HR, the Finance, the Governance group and the Board. The coordinator will have four main areas of responsibility:

  • Community Development
  • Funding and Finance
  • Statutory compliance
  • Support the Board and its’ groups

Requirements:

The candidate will be grounded in understanding of the challenges faced by CAPRN in providing relevant and positive change in the Community. The candidate is compassionate, practical and understanding in collaborating with others including representatives of the community and voluntary members on whose work the whole Network is based.

  • 5 years + recent experience in community development, project management, and administration
  • Excellent communication skill, IT skills and experience in Social Media
  • Strong motivational leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Ability to bring people together, community, volunteers at every level and paid project staff
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and experience in budgeting and financial management would be advantageous.
