Rural Development Programmes Manager

Full time (35hrs)

Laois Partnership Company is the local development company for Co. Laois. Based in Portlaoise, we run a number of state and EU funded programmes that aim to promote social inclusion, community and rural development and increase employment and enterprise.

This position will involve working within the LEADER programme. The LEADER Programme aims to support the local development of Ireland’s rural areas and the rural development manager, will work with the team to animate the local development strategy within Co Laois. This role will also be responsible for a number of other smaller programmes that have a rural development remit.

This is an exciting time to join our developing organisation and we are seeking to recruit a dynamic, innovative manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Relevant third level qualification e.g., rural development, community development or a related field.
• Experience and deep understanding of rural development and building capacity
• Experience in stimulating, facilitating, and supporting local innovation.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a complex workload
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work as a member of the Senior Management Team.
• Full clean driving license
• Professional references will be required for this position.
• At least five years’ paid experience in a rural development/related field.
• Good understanding of rural development policy, tools and approaches
