The Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW) is the human rights-based professional representative body for the social work profession in Ireland. We are recruiting for a new position to lead our small staff team and to drive delivery of our strategic plan, on behalf of our members and those with whom we work.

The position

This is a new position. Reporting to the Chair of the IASW Board, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will have responsibility for the ongoing operations of IASW, leading the staff team and coordinating the work of IASW volunteers, including committees and working groups, to ensure the achievement of strategic and operational objectives, as well as supporting the Board to ensure organisational governance and sustainability. The COO will drive excellence in organisational development and service delivery, while representing IASW and the social work profession and promoting strong interagency relationships.

Requirements

Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be at an appropriate level at COO or near level, with an exemplary track record, preferably in the not-for-profit and/or public sector; will be a self-starter with demonstrable leadership, management, communications and advocacy skills. Remuneration

At a point between €75,000 – €80,000 p.a., with attractive working conditions and benefits.
