JOB TITLE: MANAGER- The Hive Kildare Town

The Hive Youth Hub is centrally located in the Old Post Office in Kildare Town. The vision of The Hive is to create a dynamic, healthy, safe and fun environment where all young people in Kildare can meet, relax, access a wide range of activities and supports. Its mission is to provide a broad range of youth development opportunities for young people aged 10-24 years. The Hive is supported by a range of agencies, local community and youth interests in a highly collaborative way and has been in operation since 2016. The Board is comprised of community members, as well as representatives of Tusla, Community reps, In Sync, Foróige, Kildare County Council, An Garda Síochána and KWETB. 

The Hive is currently recruiting for the following position:

MANAGER

The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;

• A recognised qualification (Level 7 NFQ) in a relevant field e.g. youth work, community development, education, training, management, social studies
• Experience of collaborative working with a range of stakeholders
• Experience of developing positive working relationships with young people, volunteers and communities
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of relevant national and regional policies, strategies and legislation including a working knowledge of Children First, the Children Act 2001, Better Outcomes Brighter Futures, National Youth Strategy, LGBTI+ National Youth Strategy and National Strategy on Children and Young People’s Participation in Decision making
• A strong track record of developing and implementing needs based plans
• A clear understanding of youth work
• Excellent presentation and reporting skills
• Office Administration and IT skills
• An understanding that unsocial hours are required (including evenings and weekends)
• The capacity to contribute to and work well as part of a team
• A full driving license and own transport
