Animal Care Society
The Animal Care Society (Cork), a registered charity, was formed in October 2000. The aim of the Animal Care Society is stated in its name, to try and provide care to all animals in Cork City and County that require it. We are almost entirely made up of volunteers who give their time and effort to help animals.

Animal Rights Action Network (ARAN) Ireland's national animal rights group was formed in 2000.
ANVIL Ireland
ANVIL Ireland is a lobby group formed to harness people power to bring about legislation change in the area of anumal welfare. Ireland has outdated and ill applied animal welfare legislation and powerful lobby groups of those who profit from the current situation frequently defeats attempts to pass new animal legislation.
BirdWatch Ireland
BirdWatch Ireland is the trading name of the Irish Wildbird Conservancy (IWC), which was formed in 1968 from the merger of three ornithological bodies - the Irish Society for the Protection of Birds (ISPB), the Irish Ornithologists' Club and the Irish Wildfowl Conservancy. Since then, we have grown to become Ireland's largest, most experienced and active independent nature conservation body. We have a network of member branches throughout the country, actively promoting the importance of birds and their habitats.
Compassion in World Farming (CIWF)
CIWF-Ireland started in 1992. It is part of the international CIWF group which was founded in England and now has offices in the UK, Holland and Ireland and a sister organisation in France.

The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a registered charity, established in 1840 to prevent cruelty to animals and is now Ireland's largest animal welfare organisation. Cruelty, neglect, accidental injury and sickness to animals continues today - and we are still here dealing with these problems.
