FETAC Level 5 Certificate (Component) in Care of the Older Person (12 February 2010, Galway)

This course is delivered in Atlantic College Galway by Dorset College

This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to provide care for older people in a variety of settings. Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to demonstrate good work practices in the provision of individualised holistic care for older people and understand fully the concept of the ageing process. They will also be able to meet the needs of older people in a variety of care settings and enhance the quality of life of the older person, and themselves as carers.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age is 19 years.
  • Applicants must be capable of undertaking assessment work to Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate standard.

Learners must obtain a minimum of 20 hours work experience caring for an older person

Fridays, 9.30 a.m to 2.30p.m, 8 weeks
