Professional Programmes in Community and Youth Work (NUI Maynooth)

The Department of Applied Social Studies National University of Ireland Maynooth offers the following programmes of professional education and training in youth and community work.

BA Community and Youth Work (Full-Time) (CAO Code MH116)
This is a new degree which provides both academic and professional training in community and youth work. The degree which is three years in duration includes both college and off campus field work placement learning. The programme is open to both leaving certificate applicants and mature applicants (over 23 years of age or more in 2010). BA Community and Youth Work (Part-Time/In-service) (CAO Code MH117)
This is a new degree which provides both academic and professional training in community and youth work. The degree is four years part-time and includes both college and off campus field work placement learning. The part-time in-service degree option is available only to candidates who are already working (in either a paid or voluntary capacity) in a community work or youth work organisation/ setting, on at least a half-time basis. Places are available for experienced mature students, who may not have formal qualifications. Applicants over the age of 21 years older in the year of entry can apply for the part-time programme on the basis of mature years. MA in Community and Youth Work (MACYW)
The MA is an integrated programme of professional education andtraining in community and youth work for graduates.
