Care Local: Volunteer Team Leader
About
Care Local is a voluntary organisation assisting older people living in isolation throughout Dublin for thirty five years. Our organisation is dedicated to providing a better quality of life for older Dubliners, by offering a one-to-one befriending service of volunteers , practical and material help, support and advocacy.
Role
Care Local is seeking individuals to accept a leadership role within our organisation in a volunteer capacity as a Volunteer Team Leader (VTL).
The following points highlight the role of Care Local’s Volunteer Team Leader:
- To provide a mechanism which ensures ongoing regular, structured support from Care Local to volunteers visiting older people living alone;
- To obtain regular feedback from volunteers in relation to their experience of visiting and in relation to any older people being visited;
- To ensure that volunteers are actively involved in the Care Local organisation and in new initiatives, leading to greater volunteer retention and increasing the likelihood of volunteer participation in other activities of the organisation;
- To communicate relevant organisational developments and policy matters to volunteers;
- To create a permanent record of visitation carried out by all Care Local volunteers;
- To provide volunteers with the opportunity to meet each other in a relatively informal setting and to exchange ideas and information.
