Merchants Quay Ireland: Traveller Substance Misuse Worker

Merchants Quay Ireland is seeking to recruit a Traveller Substance Misuse Worker to work in the Midland Region which covers the catchment area Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath. The successful candidate will be required to offer case management through outreach work and support Traveller organisations in relation to substance misuse. 

This post is funded by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs through the Midlands Regional Drug Task Force and the Health Service Executive Traveller Health Unit.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Addiction, Health Promotion or other related field at Diploma standard level.
• At least two year’s full-time experience working in the area of addiction.

Salary Scale: €33,936 – €41,376
(One Year full time, fixed term post subject to continued funding)
