OpenFM Fund Raising & Communications Intern

Company Description
Open FM, the station which is proud to celebrate diversity, will be Ireland's first gay culture radio station, which aims to reduce preconceptions and stereotypes had about the LGBT community. Hoping to promote openness among everyone in Dublin and provide the straight community with an insight into gay life. Open FM will also feature a guide to what's happening during Dublin Pride Week.

Job Duties

  • To work in conjunction with the OpenFM Directors to ensure the funding and development requirements of the project are met.
  • Lead the OpenFM Corporate Sponsorship campaign by raising funding and revenue for the organisation.
  • Developing a communications strategy, utilising new and innovative ways of communicating the messages
  • Creating marketing materials in partnership with colleagues and a designer, including brochures, leaflets and presentations
  • Identifying and researching potential funding sources for the project.
  • Taking the lead on writing proposals to philanthropic bodies and other potential sources of funding.

Expectations and Obligations
The position is an unpaid internship with length of service and working hours subject to discussion. OpenFM will provide the candidate with immediate opportunities to work in a frontline capacity in all of the areas mentioned above thus building positive and real world work experience in these disciplines. We are looking for a motivated, passionate, energetic self-starter who will take initiative and bring creative and innovative ideas to the position and organisation.

The following attributes would be an advantage:

  • Experience or a qualification in Fundraising, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Sales is preferred.
  • Experience of volunteering or working in a non-profit organisation is desirable.
  • Ability to deal with the media
  • An imaginative approach to fundraising
  • Experience of volunteering or working in a non-profit organisation is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, and preferably some experience in event management.
  • Team player, reliable, with an eye for detail, not afraid to take initiative, resourceful.
  • An interest in the LGBT community and young people.
  • Excellent communication skills.

This is an unpaid position. Hours are negotiable and the internship will last for 2 to 3 months.
