Southside Addressing Violence Effectively: Part-time Development Worker
Southside Partnership DLR, on behalf of the SAVE Forum, wishes to fill the position of a Part-time Development Worker.
Southside Addressing Violence Effectively (SAVE) is made up of representatives from statutory, community and voluntary organisations connected to the issue of domestic abuse.
The aims of SAVE are:
- To develop a comprehensive response to the issue of domestic abuse
- To develop effective networks of communication at local and national level
- To advocate for the development of community based facilities for women and children experiencing domestic abuse
- To raise public awareness of the effects of domestic abuse through community-based training and relevant developments in this area.
- To establish and maintain effective links with relevant agencies to develop more effective responses for those experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse.
This is a part-time (17.5 hours per week) one year fixed-term contract funded by the HSE. The person appointed will be located in the office of Southside Partnership in Blackrock and will report to the assigned Programme Coordinator in Southside Partnership.
The person appointed will work closely with the SAVE Forum in implementing the work plan of the Forum.
Duties will include:
- Develop and support any sub-committees established by the Forum
- Work with other agencies to identify and implement training opportunities for organisations and groups
- Maintain and collate data, relevant reports and other materials and have an input into national policy on domestic abuse where appropriate
- Maintain administrative systems to support the work of the Forum
- Have an input into the SAVE work plan 2010-2011
- Organise, plan and take minutes of Forum meetings
- Represent the SAVE Forum where appropriate
- Produce an annual report for SAVE
Applicants should have:
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and IT.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Experience of inter-agency work
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to research matters of interest to the Forum and prepare briefing documentation
Salary Scale; €34,527 - €49,007 pro rata commensurate with qualifications and experience
