Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association: Regional Development Officer

The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association is a support group set up to address the needs of the Irish MND Community and to assit with the provision of specialised services tailored to meet the needs to the Irish MND community. We are now looking for a Regional Development Officer.

Title of post: Regional Development Officer

Responsible to: Association Manager

Job function:

  • To focus on new business and fundraising development.
  • To create, implement and manage regional teams across the country.
  • Produce a report in advance of all board meetings, for the Association Manager, to deliver to the Board of Directors on progress to date.

Main duties:

1.     To contribute to the Association’s business plan and policy documents.
2.     To produce a strategic plan for regional development in Ireland.
3.    To develop and implement an annual budget for regional development and insure the delivery of income and expenditure targets and practice value for money initiatives.
4.     To create, develop, coach and maintain regional fundraising teams throughout Ireland.
5.    To develop and implement a community fundraising plan to raise money for the IMNDA from a range of audiences including the general public, community groups, schools, volunteers and families.
6.    To play an active role in identifying new opportunities for fundraising at a local level and, in turn, to develop new income streams.
7.    To assist in the project management of events around the country.
8.    To recruit and manage a pool of volunteers who will act as local ambassadors for the IMNDA around the country and who will organise and lead fundraising activities around Ireland.
9.    To add to the Association’s local and national public relations and public profile.
10.  To assist with lobbying politicians at a local level.
11.  Assist in the exploration of alternative funding mechanisms; philanthropic trusts, foundations, legacies. 12.  Assist with the development of new Social Corporate relationships.

Place of work:
Location for this post varies, it will include but is not limited to working from the national office in Dublin.  Travel will be necessary to develop regional groups and projects.

Hours of work
This is a part time post of approximately twenty four hours which may need to be flexible in order to accommodate evening or weekend meetings, regional branch meetings as well as fundraising events.  Evening and weekend work will be required.

Holidays
Pro rata annual leave as based on part time position is 15 days per annum.

Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and dependent on funding.

Expenses
Expenses can be claimed, with prior approval from Association Manager.

Review
This job is a twelve month contract.  This job description will be reviewed during appointed an appraisal.  Any changes will be made following discussion and agreement with the member of staff concerned.
