The Simon Communities of Ireland Full Time Volunteer Programme

The Simon Communities of Ireland operates an extensive Full-Time Volunteer programme in our communities across the country. Each community provides a range of services to people affected by homelessness; these include the provision of emergency accommodation and support housing.

Currently we have vacancies in our Cork, Galway and Midlands communities. This programme offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work and train alongside our paid staff and gain practical experience in social care settings. The volunteer will work directly with our service users as part of a team assisting in the delivery many services on a day to day basis.

In partnership with the DIT all our Full Time Volunteers will have the opportunity to achieve a recognised third level certificate. This certificate programme is delivered locally in each Simon Community and gives the volunteer a recognisable qualification which is accredited by the DIT.

We provide all Full Time Volunteers with accommodation, a weekly pocket money allowance, supervision and comprehensive training.
