MakeRoom Alliance: Coordinator
Title: 2010 MakeRoom Coordinator
Duration: 12 months
Hours per Week: Equivalent of two days. This can be flexible but from time to time there may be specific requirements e.g. conferences and meetings
The MakeRoom Campaign Coordinators will liaise with the four membership organisations to implement the MakeRoom Alliance 2010 workplan.
Responsibilities:
Policy Coordination
- To draft policy briefing papers, submissions to Government or state agencies, draft responses to Government proposals, and other documents as may be required by MakeRoom.
- To organise, coordinate and attend lobby/briefing meetings appropriate
- To manage a rolling list of key national stakeholder meetings.
- To maintain good working relationship with key stakeholders.
- To operationalise the MakeRoom workplan for 2010.
- To identify opportunities to pursue the MakeRoom agenda.
Events Organising
- To organise all events as agreed by MakeRoom, which may include seminars, conferences, briefing sessions and media events.
Media and Communications
- To prepare and coordinate all MakeRoom media work for the duration of the contract
- To liaise with MakeRoom spokespersons and media to ensure the effective communication of MakeRooms campaign messages.
- When appropriate and agreed to act as the public face of the MakeRoom Campaign.
- To update the MakeRoom website on a regular basis.
Administration
- To coordinate all MakeRoom activities for the duration of the contract
- To prepare, minute and follow up on agreed tasks from monthly MakeRoom meetings
- To handle all correspondence between MakeRoom and external organisations
- To prepare all documents, activities and events as agreed by MakeRoom
- To keep records of MakeRoom finances, including timesheets and invoices for work carried out
Miscellaneous
- To comply with the aims and objectives of the MakeRoom campaign
- To actively and effectively promote the MakeRoom campaign messages in all aspects of your work
- To understand and work within the parameters of individual MakeRoom member organisations.
- To ensure that all costs incurred by MakeRoom are agreed in advance by the monthly MakeRoom meeting, that adequate records of all financial transactions are properly documented, and that all payments are made on time.
This position will be based in the Advocacy Team of Focus Ireland, 9-12 High Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8.
Salary: €40,000 per annum pro rata.
