Camphill Community Thomastown: Social Care Worker & Support Worker

Camphill Community Thomastown’s vision is a society where people with intellectual disabilities have the same opportunities as any other citizen to take charge of their own lives

We are currently recruiting for the following positions in our Supported Living service. The positions will provide a total of 60 hours support to 2 people with intellectual disabilities who share their home:

Social Care Worker

  • Minimum NFQ Level 6 Social Care qualification (or closely related qualification such as psychology, social work, social science)
  • Minimum of 1 year’s work experience in a related role (such as Support Worker, Care Worker, Personal Carer, Health Care Assistant, Social Care Worker)
  • NFQ Level 7 or higher qualifications and Social Care Worker experience within a disability support environment will be highly regarded

Support Worker

  • Minimum NFQ Level 5 qualification in health/social care/disability support and/or demonstrate through verifiable experience or alternative qualification that you have acquired the required skills
  • Minimum of 1 year’s work experience in a related role (such as Support Worker, Care Worker, Personal Carer, Health Care Assistant, Social Care Worker)
  • NFQ Level 6 or higher qualifications and experience within a disability support environment will be highly regarded

As these roles provide personal support to 2 females in their own home we are seeking female applicants only.

There will be flexibility in how the hours are shared. Some nights are included and weekends and public holidays may be required.

A live-in arrangement will be considered.

A full, clean driving license is required. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and Garda Vetting.
