O’Sullivan Solutions: Certified Mediation Training Programme
O’Sullivan Solutions is delivering a Certified Mediation Training Programme starting on the 9th September 2010.
It covers workplace; community; and civil and commercial disputes. An adapted version has been delivered by Gerry O'Sullivan in the University of Limerick to participants from the UL “Masters in Arts: Peace and Development Studies” programme. This training includes assessment for accreditation with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland.
Part funding for participants is available if they satisfy particular criteria.
Maximum number of participants is 6 – 8.

PhD Fellowship in Children and Young People
Applications are invited for a PhD Fellowship in Children and Young People (CYP), as part of a new collaborative research programme between the UNESCO Chairs at the University of Ulster and NUI Galway. Applicants should hold, or expect to hold by August 2010, a first or upper second class honours degree in any relevant discipline such as sociology, political science, social policy, psychology, economics, law, health, education or other cognate area. Successful candidates will enroll as of autumn 2010, on a full-time structured PhD programme leading to the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
Respond: Higher Cert Arts in Community Education and Development
The aim of this course, which is offered by WIT and Respond!, is to facilitate students to develop their skills,
knowledge and attitudes in order to work as reflective practitioners in community education and community
development settings. We do this by supporting students to become agents of change by challenging inequalities,
asking questions, being critically awareand enabling others to make informed choices about their lives.
NUI Certificate in Directing for Theatre 2010 - 2011
NUI Maynooth launched the country's first undergraduate training programme in directing in September 2006. The NUI Cert in Directing is part-time, running for two Saturdays each month from September through to May each year. It is run in The LAB Foley Street, Dublin, and is taught by professional directors. The course organizer and principal tutor is Peter Hussey (Crooked House), with key sessions taught by Annie Ryan (The Corn Exchange), John O Brien (Guna Nua), Jo Mangan (The Performance Corporation) and Annabelle Comyn (Hatch).
