Basic Intensive Week in Choice Theory, Reality Therapy & Lead Management

INTRODUCTION:
Choice Theory is a specific approach to counselling, education, management and a problem-solving for day-to-day living.  The Basic Intensive Week (BIW) is designed to help those who work with people, and as a problem-solving framework for day-to-day living. The course gives a comprehensive introduction to Choice Theory/Reality Therapy and Lead Management and its practical applications. The training is useful for anyone who counsels, teaches, manages or supervises others or for those who want to learn to manage their own lives more effectively.  It is an interactive approach, and includes lectures, group discussion, role play and creative methods of teaching.

Trinity College: M.Sc. IN DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY 2010/2012

Applications are invited for this two-year, part-time Master’s course in Drug and Alcohol Policy which is to commence in September 2010. This course is designed to offer a broad critical understanding of how society attempts to prevent or respond to problems associated with the use of licit and illicit drugs, as well as a more specific opportunity to develop research, management and policy-making skills in this area. The programme will be multi-disciplinary in terms of its teaching content, and it is also hoped that the composition of the class will reflect the multi-sectoral nature of societal concerns with drug and alcohol

Professional Programmes in Community and Youth Work (NUI Maynooth)

The Department of Applied Social Studies National University of Ireland Maynooth offers the following programmes of professional education and training in youth and community work.

BA Community and Youth Work (Full-Time) (CAO Code MH116)
This is a new degree which provides both academic and professional training in community and youth work. The degree which is three years in duration includes both college and off campus field work placement learning. The programme is open to both leaving certificate applicants and mature applicants (over 23 years of age or more in 2010).
