RedBranch is an Irish charity whose mission is to empower children, young people and parents to make healthy lifestyle choices. Healthy lifestyle is a major issue for Irish children. Childhood obesity levels are at an all-time high, with more than 25% of Irish children being overweight. Cardiovascular disease begins in childhood and kills 40% of Irish adults - 86% of all deaths in Ireland result from lifestyle-related chronic illnesses. Most Irish children have poor eating habits and are not physically active, and this has a major impact on life-long health. Good eating habits and regular physical activity also impact upon mental health issues.

RedBranch was founded to address this lifestyle crisis in Irish children. We raise awareness and change environments so that people are inspired to adopt healthier lifestyle habits and healthy options are easier to access. We provide a range of practical and innovative services for schools, parents, young people and community organisations. This includes facilitating the supply of healthy food, an informational website and improving participation in physical activity. More than 30,000 children and their parents have benefited from our work, in more than 30 schools.
