The mission of Aspire - The Asperger Syndrome Association of Ireland - is to provide material support and assistance for those with Asperger Syndrome/high functioning autism in Ireland together with a support network for families, friends and carers of those affected, and to promote and encourage research into the condition.
Aspire has been working towards developing services for people with the condition at all stages of their lives and has lobbied and assisted in the setting up of educational, training, employment and residential services for people with the condition. The Association is in contact with those affected by the disorder at all ages from young children to those in middle age.
Aspire also supports, in any way possible, the families of those with the condition. Whenever possible, research into the condition has been supported and encouraged by the Association.
The Association organises conferences, seminars and courses throughout the year, with the aim of raising the awareness of Asperger Syndrome nationwide. In addition, we have assisted in the set-up of a number of support groups throughout the country.
