ADAPT - 'Addressing Drug & Alcohol Problems Together'

ADAPT provides supports and services for people in varying stages of drug/alcohol misuse; current, recovering, relapsed and recovered.  A high proportion of its service users are poly-drug users who are actively using drugs. ADAPT also caters for a significant amount of individuals on methadone maintenance programmes (stable and unstable), in addition to those who have been affected by drug mis-use.

ADAPT offers free, confidential, same day access to service (Drop In) in addition to the following;  Comprehensive assessment to explore treatment options, Integrated Care Plans (Stablisation, Treatment & Rehabilitation),  Case Management, Crisis Intervention & Management, One to One Support, Referrals pathways to external agencies, Outreach Service (Home, Treatment Centres and Prison Visits, Court Accompaniment), Counselling & Psychotherapy, Childcare Drop In Service & Structured Pre-school Programme, Family Support , Advocacy (regarding issues such as housing, criminal justice, social work, childcare, family, education, training, employment, general health, access to stabilisation, treatment & rehabilitation services, etc.);  Health Promotion & Needle Exchange Service, Holistic Therapies & Referral to other agencies.

ADAPT also operates a full time Drug & Alcohol Free Day Programme onsite in partnership with Coolmine Therapeutic Community. This ten month, abstinence based, rehabilitative programme caters for up to ten participants at any one time.

Conditions for acceptance/Criteria if any: Persons experiencing problems related to their drug/alcohol use, or persons experiencing problems related to the drug/alcohol use of a family member/significant other, can self-refer or be referred to ADAPT.  For admission to the Drug & Alcohol Free Day Programme, drug-free status is required.

Drop in service or Scheduled intake: Same day, Drop-in service for all other services. Scheduled intake for Drug & Alcohol Free Day Programme, Structured pre-school programme and Family Support Groups.

Catchment area:  Mountview, Blakestown, Hartstown, Huntstown priority areas and anywhere in Dublin 15.
