Youth Information Centres (YICs)

Youth Information Centres, which are located around the country, provide a free, confidential information service to young people and those who work with them on a wide range of subjects including careers, education, employment matters, rights and entitlements, travel, sport and leisure.

They are a first point of contact for a young person seeking information on any subject of interest or concern. By providing fast and easy access to information, they enable young people to make realistic and responsible decisions about their lives. They help them to avail of opportunities, develop their skills and abilities, solve problems, and actively participate in society at local, national and international level.

Youth Information Centres are administered by a variety of youth organisations, with funding from the Youth Affairs Section of the Department of Education and Science.
