Are you organising an activity to mark International Day Against Racism?  Would you like to show your solidarity, learn and just have fun by coming to events that are organised during European Week Against Racism? 

ENAR Ireland is supporting the co-ordination of activities linked to European Week Against Racism/International Day Against Racism in Ireland. International Day Against Racism is the 21 March.  This year, European Week Against Racism takes place between 13-21 March.

New FOMACS/BRITISH COUNCIL Public Education Project

FOMACS and the British Council are pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative public education project, titled Learning Lab: ‘Identities and Social Justice’. Learning Lab opens a cross-sectoral learning environment for a focused discussion on the theme of identities aligned with the concept of social justice. Learning Lab bridges debates about cultural identity with principles of social equality – connecting questions about race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, gender, culture, language and religion, in addition to youth and age.

Ballsbridge College of Further Education, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4 is holding an Open Day on Wednesday 27 January 2010, 11.00am – 3.00pm. All are welcome to attend. The college offers a range of courses in the areas of property, business, community and social studies, EFL, TEFL and computing and multimedia. All courses are certified at FETAC Level 5 or 6.

Further Education Opportunites Day at North Connaught College Tubbercurry

North Connaught College on the Sligo Road provides education and training programmes of the highest quality and on 10th March members of the public are invited to come and see our facilities, talk to tutors about opportunities and meet some of the present students. At present over 200 adults of all ages are taking advantage of professional courses, ranging from Beauty Therapy, Childcare, Nursing, Business, Community Development, Security Studies and more. Courses are mostly one year,  leading to qualifications  which are nationally accredited , and  are delivered by experienced staff in a caring 
and supportive atmosphere.

Learning for Change: Connecting Local and Global Education’ Conference 11th March

The Centre for Global Education’s 2010 conference will focus on the theme of ‘Learning for Change: Connecting Local and Global Education’, and will take place on Thursday, 11 March 2010 in the Camden Court Hotel in Dublin from 10:30am-4:30pm. It aims to identify the common principles that encourage ‘learning for change’, i.e. what kind of education results in the learner altering their lives and action choices to achieve a common goal of a just and sustainable world.
