The Carmichael Centre for Voluntary Groups will launch a new Governance Code eLearning resource to provide charities and voluntary organisations with the tools they need to achieve a best-practice governance benchmark. Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe TD, will launch the new resource with a photocall at 10.30am Monday, 24th April at the Carmichael Centre, Brunswick Street, Dublin 7.
Commenting in advance of the launch, Diairmaid Ó Corrbuí, CEO of the Carmichael Centre, said: “Recent scandals within individual charities and non-profit organisations have weakened public trust in the sector. The Governance Code and the Charities Regulator are so important to ensure transparency and accountability in charities so that the public can be sure of where their money is going and what it is being spent on. Our new Governance Code eLearning resource will provide charities and non-profits step-by-step in implementing the Code and achieving the highest standard of governance.”
